The Fort Clark Fur Trading Post was built in 1830 to improve trade with the nearby Mandan Indian village. The site of the village and fort now contain depressions in the ground where the earthen lodge village and trading post once stood. It is located 8 miles southeast of Stanton, near Center, and includes picnic areas. The site offers interpretive signs on the history of the Indians that once lived there as well as information on fur trading, and provides an observation deck where visitors can look down onto these remains.
Open daily mid-May - mid-Sep: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
